Splash Layout

I made this layout using the sketch from Sketches in Thyme #51.

I used the Pack Your Bags cart (definitely one of my favs!) to cut the title, the waves, the sun, and the circles that I wanted to look like bubbles (for these cuts I used Layer 1 of the boat steering wheel one). I outlined the title with a light blue gel pen and some of the waves too. I added some buttons (I love buttons and have a HUGE collection that I never use cuz I never want to give them up lol) for bubbles. I got the buttons to stay by using Terrifically Tacky Tape.. this stuff is the best!! It holds ANYTHING! I cut the frame out at 5.5 x 7.5 and then cut the inside at 4.75 x 6.75. Then I used my Sew Easy and some brown floss to stitch on the frame. This was my very first time actually stitching on a project and my first time using my Sew Easy.. which really is SO EASY! I can't even imagine how much time it saved me to have this awesome tool. The pic was a 5x7 and I had to cover some of it with the frame but I love how it turned out. You wouldn't believe it if I told you but I spent at least 2 hrs on this one layout.. Layouts take me forever but I love making them more than anything.. Im still working on my style thow.. so I love having sketches to work with. The journaling strips are cut at different lengths and heights.

And this is a pic of Adam snorkeling in John Pennekamp State Park in FL while on a little "Vacation".. Adam really got sent down to FL for work but we ended up basically getting a few weeks of vacation for free which was SOOOOOOO nice. I mean we went ALL over. We drove from IL (which was where we were living at the time) and saw tons of stuff on the way down and back.. and since we took our truck we were able to go anywhere we wanted so we drove all the way down to the Keys for this trip.. and actually ended up taking a ferry to the Dry Tortugas and camping ... super fun stuff!!

So Im entering this layout into the following challenges:

Scrapbookaholic By Abby - #10
The Paper Variety - Tic Tac Toe (I was actually able to get 2 different lines in here lol: stitching, water theme, 1 pic layout, & journaling strips, buttons, 1 pic layout.. not bad!)

SCAL & Cricut

Well.. I just came from a few blogs and I figured I'd let all my followers know. I guess I figure if I didn't know about this until now than maybe some of you don't know yet either. From what I've heard Provo Craft sued SCAL and MTC and won. Now what this means is.. if you update your cricut firmware you will no longer be able to use either of these programs. If any of you have this programs and have not yet updated than you're safe so long as you dont update. Im very thankful that I read about this before I updated my firmware because I need my SCAL! lol.

Baby Shower Invites

Well I finished up my baby shower invites :). Now I cant take all the credit my husband did help me a little bit. He made the rain stencil, the cloud cuts, and folded all of the cards for me.. he even helped glue together some of the animals! He's the best!

So for this baby we're doing a Forest/nature theme for her nursery. So of course that's the theme for the baby shower. My SIL is actually throwing it but asked me to make the invites since I have the Cricut. Its gonna be on Aug 6 :) its gonna be so cute!

Adam had the idea on the fold for these cards and I thought it was cute so Adam folded them all.. I believe he folded 1/3 of the front over. Then he made a raindrop template (my idea lol) and some clouds on SCAL. I used a blue blow pen to make the rain drops all over the cards... that was hard work lol!

Each animal is cut at 3 1/4 inch using Create A Critter. I wanted them cards to match the room theme (all of the animals are going to be bright and colorful, not true to nature). I put the animals on the fold line of the card fronts. The "Its a shower" stamp I got at Michaels in the dollar stamps awhile ago and stamped this onto the clouds in black. I put this on the fold in the front of the card above the animal. I used a "You're invited" stamp I got a few years ago for the inside and used pink chalk ink and purple for the "<3 to have you come" on the bottom. Hope you like em!

Heart Shaker Card

I was at Craft Warehouse the other day and they were having a huge clearance on a lot of scrap stuff. Including the Shaker things. I saw them on someones blog the other day (can't remember who's) and I thought man those would make shaker card so much easier.. so I got some cuz they were only $1.65 for a box of 10.. I got square, circle & hearts.

So I made this card for my husband for our anniversary this year (aug 15). I made the key thats inside the heart using the Sweethearts cart and cut it at 1.5 inches, I also cut the "Happy Anniversary" out from Sweethearts at 1.5 inches. The key I cut using card stock and to make it a little think I cut 2 out and glued them back to back. I covered both sides in silver glitter glue and then after it dried I covered one side in Clear Accents.

I cut the plaid orange paper out to fit the card (4x5 I think) I traced the heart shaker box on the paper and cut out the inside of the heart. I glued down the key inside the heart shape and put some gold glass beads & orange glitter inside the heart cut.. then I placed the shaker box over it (it comes with a film you peel and it self sticks... super nice!).

I put a little orange bow down in the corner just to add a little I donno I just thought it could use it. I hand wrote the sentiment. See when my husband and I were dating he used to lock his keys in the car on a weekly basis.. he did it ALL the time!! Matter of fact one of the last times he did it was the day before our wedding!! LOL! We were at my place getting ready to leave for my baptism and he wanted to get the truck cooled off for me so he started it and turned on the air and came back to get me.. lol. It was his grandparents truck and it locks itself after a certain amount of time. Well my Uncle & Adam got it unlocked with a coat hanger because AAA wasn't gonna be there for over an hour and that would have made me 2 hrs late to my baptism.. I was luckily only 1 hr late LOL. He has yet to lock the keys in our truck.. but we'll see. He just let his AAA membership expire 4 months ago so I wouldn't be surprised if it happened soon.

Anyway I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Also.. real quick I wanted to show everyone what my wonderful husband bought me while he was out of town in AK on work last week.. OK OK I bought it and he didn't know until he came home LOL! I got an amazing deal though!

K Andrew Stamps

So as many of you know I have been using these stamps made by K Andrew a lot lately.. mainly because I love them!! I have the Splashtastic Summer set but there are many other sets I some day soon hope to own. I just wanted to take a minute to tell you all how wonderful these stamps are. They are extremely strong and stamp so smooth and clear it's unreal! On top of how great the quality is.. the amount of stamps you get is large and they can mix and match. Now to make these the BEST stamps ever... They are 1st of all affordable but even better than that... part of the money from these stamps goes to a good cause each stamp set benefits a charity! I donno about you guys but I think just getting something (like stamps) for your money is great.. but with K Andrew stamps you get a wonderful quality product for a great price along with the satisfaction of knowing you helped to benefit a charity!!

Here are a few pics of some of the projects I've made using these stamps!

I say head on over and check out some of these stamps there are tons of great ones and all priced really reasonably! If you should happen to choose to buy a stamp set (GREAT!!!) I would very much appreciate it if you told Kristal that I recommended her stamps to you. Thanks so much!!

Baby Boy Card

I cut this card base at 5.5 inches using the Life's A Party cart in blue & white plaid card stock. I cut the onesie shape from at the same size from the same cart and inked the outside and inside of the cut with blue chalk ink. And then I cut the "B" at 1inch from the same cart and also inked the edges. I used some pop dots for the "B" and tada! :)

Imaginisce Sketch

I made this layout using the sketch for this months challenge over at Imaginisce. The rest of the challenge also included that the layout had to have a monochromatic color scheme and use at least 75% of product from Imaginisce. I did just that!

The background red/orange page is from the Spooky Town line and it's called "Bestitched". The white paper in the middle is just white card stock cut at 7in x 7in. The red paper with the cameras in the center is cut at 6in x 6in and is from Scooter's Vacation line and it's called "Click". The cameras and "Smile" title are cut from the same bestitched paper and from the cricut using the Create A Critter cart. All cameras range in size from 3/4in - 1 1/2 inch. I used some pop dots on one camera and on the center (lens) of another camera. Smile was cut at 1.5 inches. The edges of the main background Bestitched page were inked with red ink. And the journaling strips were cut from bestitched paper also.

The Heat is On! Candy Giveaway

Ok ok.. now you have GOT to head over to Raina's Favorite Crafty Things she is having a great giveaway when she reaches 350 followers! Head over and see how to win your choice of these 2 carts!!!!

1st TP Mini Album

This is my very first attempt at a toilet paper roll mini album... I think it turned out pretty good for a first time! I would have liked to done more pages but I only had 2 empty toilet paper rolls lol. If you don't know how to make one it's pretty simple. Basically you just get a toilet paper roll flatten it (I would have used my cuttlebug but I have NO idea where the plates are lol).. I used a bone folder.. I've seen online ppl use books and such to flatten them. Pick out paper, cover the roll and tuck into the inside so you can see any of the roll. Make tags to fit inside.. (mine are a little less than 4in x 2in approx.) and add embellishments. Punch holes (or in my case 1 hole, I could only find 1 binder ring) into one end of the toilet paper roll pages and close with binder ring.. add ribbon to the binder ring for looks. Pretty simple! I've seen other people use a bind it all or something similar to bind their toilet paper albums.. If I had a binding maching (I wish!) I probably would have done so also.

My entire album has embellishments from Pack Your Bags cart (1 is from Life's A Beach the whale on the front cover, and the ice cream is from Nifty Fifties). All of the stamped sentiments in the mini are from K Andrews Splashtastic Summer stamp set (you can purchase from her site HERE!), which I LOVE!

Magic Layout

For this layout I used my small star punch and Once Upon a Princess cart. I cut the "Magic" out at 3 inches (its actually "Magical" but i cut off the "al" at the end and put the little wand on my tag). The tag pocket is yellow vellum and the tag was hand cut (this is why it looks so bad lol).

The picture is of Adam & I on our honeymoon at Disneyworld.. in this pic we're right in front of the big epcot ball thingy lol. It was taken by a Disney Photopass person (who normally I would say didn't do a very good job based on the lighting and everything) but for some strange reason this is one of my fave pics from the Disney part of our honeymoon. I just really like the way the light hit us "wrong". It was pouring down rain and well.. we decided to go to FL during hurricane season lol.. so needless to say the lines weren't bad at all!! It was an 8x10 but I cut it down a bit to fit the page better. I outlined the pic in blue scribbles 3d paint to make it stand out a bit more.

One more thing.. I just updated to the newest posting system.. you know the photo uploader.. and so far ... not a fan.. we'll see if this changes.

Beach Fun Layout

These are the scraps I started out with.

This was a fun layout to make because I had to use all scraps.. which I love to do! I cut the beach ball at 4 inches and the title at 2 inches both from the Pack Your Bags cart. The strips are all different sizes ranging from 3inches wide to 4 inches wide. I inked the title with a light blue chalk ink and used a blue zig marker to darken some of the items in the title like the beach ball and the umbrella.

Remember the Times layout

Simple layout I made... The circle is cut at 7 inches from the Create A Critter cart.. The title is hand written with Scribbles 3d Paint.

These are pics of Adam & I when we were still dating.. not even engaged yet.. so they're pretty old lol. These were taken somewhere in Tacoma. I loved the house then cuz I am a HUGE Michael Jackson fan.. and this is the name of his ranch.. well sort of if you lose one "Never" either way.. I thought this house was adorable so we did our pics in it. And it also fits a Disney type theme.. Peter Pan you know (Which I also LOVE!).
